In the late 1830 the government gave a massive sum of money to schools. Not all teacher were standard so children were provided with a bad education. In 1844 children worked and it was not against the law the people had no saying they were not allowed to not work. Poor people also got a education but it was very basic. It was free to poor children and orphans.
